MANILA, Philippines -- A magnitude 5 earthquake shook northern Mindoro island at 7:03 p.m. Friday, the US Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The inland quake struck 65 kilometers west of Calapan City at a depth of 67.5 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
